Dualism & Physicalism .

        Being more persuaded by the arguments of dualism I believe we as human beings should in fact think or ourselves as made out of two different substances just as Descartes argued. I say this because although the mind and body interact and casually effect one another they are two different things. A person could be mentally ill and physically their body is healthy and there was no trama to the brain and also the body may be phyiscally disabled but the mind is in working order not causing a change in the person's behavior or personality of course this is not always the case in people who suffer from brain damage but i don't necessarily think trama to the brain causes a change with the persons way of thinking and their mind it causes a physical change within the brain that doesn't allow them to express their thoughts as before. being that the body is a physical thing and the mind is not physical they are two different things. Although the mind is closely connected with the physical organ of our brain it is separate from our minds. i say this because we cannot directly point out or locate a thought in our brain or what part of the brain certain thoughts we have in our minds comes from. Physicalism doesn't really take into consideration how complex the mind is and how it is different from our physical bodies and that our mental life is like nothing else in the physical world. i believe that our minds would still be our own even if they could be placed in someone else's body.
